Search engines, and especially Google are real “text consuming monsters”. So provide enough text on the site.
As for how we deal with optimisation, we refer to our special column about this.Anyway, here are some interesting tips to help you prepare your discussion with us :
Create a signature in your email program, in order to send all your basic data (address, telephone, fax, ...) but above all the address of your website whenever you send a mail. Look it up in the Help function of Outlook Express and look for “create your signature”.
Put your Internet address and your email address on your business cards, letter forms, fax forms, invoices, offers, envelopes, member cards, tombola cards.
Give visitors of your House Fairs a leaflet or a badge mentioning your Internet address and your email address.
Put your Internet address and your email address on all of your company cars, lorries, fork-lift trucks, etc.
If you give presentations during company events, make sure your Internet address and your email address are clearly visible on each dia.
Put your Internet address on packing, boxes, plastic bags.
Put your data on all possible promotional material you are using : ball-points, diaries, calendars, pens, pencils, T-shirts, posters, advertisement-boards,...
Be sure your Internet address and your email address are in the Golden Pages together with all other company information.
Be sure that your Internet address and email address are mentioned on all of your advertisements in weekly papers and publicity papers.
Put your Internet address and your email address on your show-window.

Visitors indicate on your website they want to receive your newsletter. Their email address is stored on the database. On the server you put a newsletter, and with a simple press on the button this newsletter is sent to all subscribers. Subscribers can remove themselves their email address from the database afterwards. On the understanding that a solid template is used, this doesn’t even have to cost a lot.
Of course, the newsletter has to be edited in such a way that the receiver gets the “irresistible strong desire” to have a look at the website. This brings us to following : give something for free.
You dispose on your website of a news page where you can put regularly messages, promotions, etc. We can make sure that the contents of these messages is sent to whoever wants this.
Visitors of your website shall always be pleased whenever they get a direct benefit. Everyone is happy to receive something. If you can give something away through your newsletter and your website, they will come back. Even discounts and promotions can be announced through the newsletter, and translated into something substantial through the website.
You can also offer your visitors something at the occasion of a house fair in your company. Ask them to make a reservation through your website and offer them something to drink and a snack if they come in. Offer tickets for an event or the cinema. Invite them to order a gift voucher as a present for someone else.Linking via other websites to yours is a strong means to be found at the search engines. Very often you find interesting sites through the websites of others. Moreover, the most important search engine, Google, ranks you higher if you are frequently linked to. So note down on beforehand, even before your website is online, all websites of partners, friends, sister-companies etc. and put these in an Excel file or in your address book of Outlook Express. As soon as your site is online, you can send these people and organisations a mail. Ask them to forward your mail to people they know very good and who might be interested as well. This works exponential : 100 become 200, 200 become 400, etc.
Of great importance is the quality of whoever is linking to you. If you are a personal acquaintance of Bill Gates and you can get on the site of Microsoft a link to your website, then you have it made until the end of your days. On the other hand, a link on the site of www.superclean-smith-london-and-some-more-of-this.be with 2 visitors a day can work backwards and draw you into the deep.
Put on your site a news page or blog on your homepage. Visitors often go from your homepage directly to your news page. At any moment, it give your website an up to date look. Visitors also come back if each time they notice something has changed. On the other hand, if they realise there’s nothing changed or added after two or three times, they’ll never come back. A dynamic news page (one you can fill in and change yourself as owner of the website) is standard provided on each website.
Other modules can also be interesting to attract visitors. A question and answer page, for instance, just like ours where visitors can ask online a question.
